John Leigh is finally here! He arrived at 9:39 AM on May 3, 2005 weighing in at 8lbs 6oz and 19 inches long after 10 hours of labor and only 15 minutes of pushing. For those of you veteran parents out there, you know these are the standard statistics that we must report and wear like badges of honor. But statistics aside, we are absolutely ecstatic and relieved that Leigh is finally here so we can hold him and cuddle him and welcome into our little Jenkins family. Well, it gets really hot here in Lawrenceville in the good ole' summertime. But Brenna came up with a solution! I spent Saturday spinning wool and knitting...after all I have to have a mindless escape from my everyday job of dealing with computers. Bren steadily got more and more frustrated with my not paying any attention to her, so finally we decided to play outside in the back yard. Bren wanted to play in the water and the large cake mix bowl seemed to work perfectly for water play. At first we just used old plastic Easter eggs to pour water back and forth and splash a lot. But she was so hot she peeled off her outfit and dove right in. What fun! And here are the results...
